WTF: Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine, you are officially the biggest knob in the entire world. How are you going to release a song slagging Michael off yet it sounds like a cheap version of Another Part of Me? Looks like Jermaine is joining Quincy, John Legend in the army of Michael haters.

Keep reading to hear Jermaine’s diss record to Michael…

What up yo, word to the badd

Been abducted
Don’t know who you are
They may love you
they don’t know you
Lonely superstar
never think about who you love
only think about number one
You forget about where you started from
You only think about what you want
don’t care about how it’s done
you only think about you, your throne
Be it right or be it wrong

It ain’t about your world
It ain’t about the things that you do
If you don’t care, I don’t care
Cause you keep thinkin’ ’bout you
It ain’t about you takin’ my pie
You been takin’ for a long time
If you don’t care, I don’t care
If you keep
Well I ain’t thinkin’ ’bout you

What up yo, word to the badd

Once you were made
You changed your shade
Was your color wrong?
Could not turn back
It’s a known fact
You were too far gone
You know I tried to be there for you
Like a brother I care for you
It didn’t matter you always play me off
You only care about what you want
You don’t care about how it’s done
You only think about you, your throne
Be it right or wrong

It ain’t about your world
It ain’t about the things that you do
If you don’t care, I don’t care
Cause you keep thinkin’ ’bout you
It ain’t about you takin’ my pie
You been takin’ for a long time
If you don’t care, I don’t care
If you keep
Well I ain’t thinkin’ ’bout you
Oh no no, I ain’t thinkin’ ’bout you
Oh no

What up yo, word to the badd

Thinkin’ about that pie that you’ve been takin’ from me
From a brother to another brother hard to believe
Lost and don’t know it yet you still show it
Givin’ seems to be harder than it is to receive
The glass has gotten shady, time to make it clearer,
Clean it up and lets start with the Man in the mirror.
Theres sadness there brother, aint no mistaken it,
Get a grip cause youre not far from breakin it.
Thinkin about the time when we used to be close,
It shouldnt be past tense, cause nobody knows,
What the future may hold, what tomorrow might bring,
Its not guaranteed that youll be spreading your wings

But meanwhile, I continue to smile, cause in the back of my head,
I know you’re still a child
You say that your a man, but that will never be
(cant figure out what the rest says)

Gone too far, ya better turn back, I know who you are
You know where Im at, sad but its true, from me to you.
Pick up the phone, Dont be alone, step off the throne, come back home.

Just three things I want to write about this issue.

1. It’s absolutely pathetic

2. Jermaine, you were not WILLING to work hard and make your OWN bloody money. Therefore, I need you to shut the fuck up. Even if you sang this shit in the 80s, don’t be jealous that Michael was a hard worker and gifted to create #1 and timeless songs. I am sure you had it in you as well.

3. And he seriously is going to Reggae SumFest as part of J5 and does he honestly think him singing lead is going to matter?

Jermaine is just an complete embarrassment. Yes, all families have their issues but he is clearly jealous of Michael’s hard work.

Do your own fucking work!

P/S – Michael is not getting off any throne because he is the King of Music. The end.

  1. The sad thing about that song is that is has a great beat, but the lyrics were mean-spirited, even when he changed the lyrics for his album, it was a poor attempt. I understand it happened almost 20 years ago, and he, like many artists, used his art to vent his frustration, but if he was as close as he said to MJ, he could have found another way.

  2. this was over 20 years ago who are we to judge they may have been fighting around the time,no matter what you always love your siblings which jermaine obviously did and does, quincy he’s just sayin stuff for attention but i know alot of people who have the same thouhts as john legend, albeit he made them public at the wrong time but it doesnt mean he didnt like mike’s music.

    • Lizzy, I see where you are coming from but to me, your point doesn’t fully stand for one simple reason: lip service. People are more than happy to call Mike out on supposedly hating his black self (J Legend) yet funny how he weren’t talking shit when Mike was alive? HMMM

Also on Jermaine. I am not judging him but due to them being public figures, we will all have opinions on that. It;s the way of the world.

  3. Can’t lie. This had me tapping my toes. But I do find it interesting-I ,personally don’t have an opinion -Jermaine was his brother there was knowledge and understanding there and maybe some jealousy but we weren’t part of the family. Those relationships are heavily nuanced, maybe Jermaine is just jealous or maybe MJ wasn’t the saint we all assume he was.

    • @Nola, by putting it in public domain, Jermaine is allowing US to comment on it, as Michael’s fans. No one is perfect but if you don’t want people to talk about your behaviour, don’t go and put it on wax.

  5. I will say this: although I don’t think Jermaine should have aired out his dirty laundry in public like this, everyone does make mistakes. Michael and Jermaine’s relationship was complicated at times. However, Jermaine did become and remains one of Mike’s biggest defenders. He genuinely loves little brother.

Now what is unforgivable to me is when Latoya came out and said he was a pedophile. Even though she later retracted and said her husband made her say it. I would have wrung her neck.

    • @Aisha, I agree – Jermaine did make amends, but his insincerity to me is just too much to bear. It’s almost embarrassing how insincere he and LT come across.

  6. When Joe first came up with the idea of a group, he wanted Jermaine to be the lead and would not even consider adding Michael in the group until Katherine convinced him that he was a good singer. I wonder was it then that he began to get a wee bit jealous of Mike, or was it a little later on.

    • @Asha, probably got jealous from then on. It must have been hard for him to deal with from being the centre of attention to being in the background.

  7. Hard work? Michael was conditioned by his father. They are both victims of his greed. It’s kinda like saying Beyonce did the hard work, when it was her father. And that Solange is just lazy, when that was also her father.

    • Now, Kandeezie, give credit when credit is due. I don’t see how Michael was forced to be a singer even after Thriller days, when he was out of his father’s grip.

He has said many times in countless interviews how ambitious he was and how he just wanted to create great music that people would love.

He worked his arse off. Bad, Thriller, HIStory, Invincible, Off The Wall did not all happen by accident.

They happened because he was a grafter. Pure and simple. New Yorker journalist Malcolm Gladwell talks about the concept of hard work in successful people and I really believe working hard matters more than talent. Mike was talented no doubt, but he was also a hustler.

In Michael’s case, Gladwell’s thesis is correct.

Now girl, calling Solange lazy is not really fair. She is doing her own thing and sells out her own [smaller] venues and has her own completely different fanbase. No one makes that girl do anything.

As for Beyonce, it is pretty clear to me that Beyonce works very very hard. Probably the hardest working bish in the industry. Because I know you don’t think Matthew gets on stage in 4 inch heels singing 2hour sets or rehearses for 9hours a day….right?

    • Joe Jackson and Matt Knowles were the hustlers. The Jacksons, and to a lesser extent, Beyonce have the talent, but someone has to drive that talent, be it the talent themselves or someone on their team. There’s a lot of celebs who aren’t that talented, especially compared to MJ, but they were ambitious, and had an ambitious team behind them.

      • Co-sign with a lot of what you said. Ambition counts for a lot in fickle industries.

And totally agree of the hustler nature of Joe Jackson & Matt Knowles.

  8. Yeah, Jermaine was pretty upset at Michael when he wrote this. Michael refused to answer his calls or letters, so this was his way of striking back. He later regretted it.

    • I hope he had to be extremely upset and didn’t have it all upstairs when he did this piece of filth of a song, and its not just the lyrics, the beat is cheesy too lol.

Off topic: That is a cute outfit is wife is wearing, does anyone know where that shirt can be purchased? 🙂

      • LMAO when you wrote:

and didn’t have it all upstairs when he did this piece of filth song…the beat is cheesy too lol

And you know that’s the truth.

        The song is weak!

        O/T: I haven’t a clue about the tee…anyone else know?

    • @Aisha, it’s cool that he regretted it but doesn’t change how insincere he comes across to me.

Just seems pathetic to me. Jermaine is waiting for the crumbs off Michael’s cake to drop to the floor and now they are. I was told they are now called the Jackson 4.

WTF is the shit about now? I’m done with Jermaine + his nonsense.
