Knock You Down is #5!

I am really shocked. I knew the song was a banger but wow! Number 5 out of the top 40 is amazing, considering she is a new artist and not many people know her here.

Return the Favour was a top 20 hit here as well, reaching #19.

Can’t wait to see Keri do some dates.

I initiated the first step of my Ticketmaster refund today. Then I thought about the great times that Michael’s music has given me. I will not be posting the video of the last rehearsal. Most people do a top 10 list or top 5 but I can only think of 4 Michael Songs that that really have touched me.

4. Thriller

Thriller is so iconic in some parts because of the video but to me, it matters because it was Michael’s coming of age. He sings with such aggression yet mixed with sweetness at the same time. Iconic.

3. In The Closet

And……BAM!

In The Closet is a Banger of a song! It just thumps you in the head with slams left, right and centre all over the gaffe! I think one reason why I love this song is even though it is an assertion of confident sexuality, it is not unnecessarily lurid. Beautiful song and the video! Michael’s legs were in their zone in that video especially from 5:37 onwards. Don’t believe me? Check out the video below:

2. Scream

Wow — what good words don’t I have to say about Scream? The song spawned the most expensive video in the world which is actually better than half of the Soulja Boy shit videos that clutter YouTube. Scream is an amazing song that attacks the maggots of the media who hate Michael. Go Janet & Michael.

I adore Scream and the shots from the video are fantastic! Michael & Janet should have released an entire album together.

P.Y.T is Michael’s most magical track to me because it is one of his most stripped down uptempo tracks. To me, it is his best because it is jampacked with so many lovely elements like the gorgeous kiss effect at the end of the ”oohs”. 

 One of my close friends put what the tragic events of what happened perfectly. She said: Michael Jackson was Music.

One thing I think about a lot is the history of Catholicism and the impact that non-Catholics try and push on other Catholics.

A few weeks ago, I was walking past Goodge Street station. A scientologist approached me to try and come into their centre, which ironically is on Goodge Street.

I specifically remember what I said to him:

• “No thanks I’m Catholic”

I wasn’t trying to be rude, but I’m a Christian, specifically a Catholic so there is absolutely NO POINT in wanting to be part of Scientology, especially as the latter is known for cutting people from their families.

When I told him, I was Catholic, he said that ‘didn’t matter’. So, I was like ”are you lot Christians then?” He didn’t say no but didn’t say yes. He hesitated.

So then I asked them if they are more spiritual and he said ”yes”. I was perplexed by his reluctance to say whether some Scientologists are Christians are not.

I’d love a 2nd, 3rd, 4th opinion on this.

For my website, I have been conducted interviews with many people. I told myself early on that I would send thank you notes to everyone who allowed me to interview them because it would lead me one step closer to reaching my dream of seeing this website full of content.

What do you think of this strategy? Again, I was only going to send them to people I had interviewed and people who had agreed to meet me and talk about my idea.

As a former reader, I realised that Vibe was starting to jarr me when…

1. They continued their decline into sleaze and unsexy sex with this:

Note to Christina: why oh WHY is your man covering your titties on the cover of a national magazine? I used to have so much respect for Christina Milian but what has happened? What’s going on here? And why does the Dream have his hand down her pussycatdoll??? What the fuck? Charcoal stan points for anyone who has a good explanation. Vibe went out with a whimper with this final issue.

2. More nonsense covers like this popped up in Vibe’s past as well:

Note the coverline on the cover that says ‘the 51 best MySpace rappers’. Note to Danyel, MySpace rappers — cover them on the website first, before putting them on the magazine. Nothing against Keyshia but I don’t want to see her covering up her tatas/tits/boobs/etc on the cover of a music magazine. A little sex here and there is great, but when dick, boobs and pussy are in full display, it makes the whole magazine look like a one minute man.

3. Vibe as a magazine didn’t know who it was. Was it a magazine for black music fans or a magazine that simply that was under the so-called urban umbrella?

4. No original features. And SHOCKING cover lines. Does anyone remember the Rihanna issue I posted a while ago? Here’s a reminder below:

It’s sad to see people losing their jobs, but I have to say, I would be devastated if Black Enterprise, ESSENCE and especially if Ebony folded because they have more of a legacy to me because at least their messages were consist.

What have I been saying about Vibe Magazine?

The end has come. I can’t wait to see what The Reaper at Magazine Death Pool has to say about this. I really used to read Vibe a lot.

Whenever I would go to Borders, I would always look for Vibe but the content literally just evaporated. I had said it before that top 30 lists of who is hot in music, no one is going to pay for that!

As a magazine fiend, I hate seeing magazines fold but to be square and linear here, Vibe is gone because it didn’t know who it was. It didn’t know if it was a magazine for black people or a multicultural magazine wannabee like Trace.

I will write a more detailed analysis in a few days time.

…Michael was the greatest performer/entertainer of ALL TIME (Beatles or no Beatles, Elvis or no Elvis).

This is not an opinion, it is a fact so all the haters in the media need to shut the fuck up or stop their printing presses.

Molly & Kevin fucking SNOGGED today!

ARGH! Coronation Street is killing me today! For anyone who doesn’t watch Coronation Street, start watching it immediately.

Kevin is 15 or 20 years older than Molly, a young woman who went a massive weight loss change. Looks like ’slimline Molly’ as her husband Tyrone called her is finally getting the attention she deserves! Woop!

Any other soap addicts out there? Naturally I think infidelity is wrong but I love watching illict affairs on soaps.
