This is Leona Lewis on the cover of the recent issue of British magazine, Company. I love how people now give a fuck about Leona just because she is making some tiny inroads in the US. I don’t think the US dictates shit to me but clearly the British mag press only care because of her success.

Don’t get me wrong though, I love Leona. She has a phenomenal voice. Stunning too. Anyways, it is always a feat when black girls make into magazines and especially on the cover because apparently, we don’t sell magazine covers so good for Leona. The interview is very boring but Leona is a real talent nonetheless.

    I don’t like Estelle music

  4. aulelia Says:

lol, looks like the leona troll aka britney spears wont be making a reapperance!

@lechatnoir, yeah i agree with you. she is boring but very pretty, not cos she is mixed but cos she looks good.

@sdg, estelle is heavy. she is finally getting love after toiling in london for years.

She’s not a big deal here either and we all know it isn’t about “talent” any damn way anywhere in the world. The whole business of fame is one big fat illusion and her looks certainly play a part in her “fame.”

I don’t detract or take away from anyone w/a gift, but it incenses me and will continue to do so. I prefer Estelle and Tawiah for their rebelliousness and individuality.

Hum… she is super fine but she looks a little too much like a white girl. But seriously her music doesn’t do it for me, romantic song make me *yawn* .
did you knwo that Leona is in the list of the 10 richest black britons under 30. she has 6.5 mio GBP in the bank ( netto) already , her boyfriend has body, the bootie and tha money. what a mufu only whites can tap this type I hate that.

Disney has this cartoon with her in it. It just occured to me that that they had no idea how to draw bi-racial people. Leyona looks no different then the other white characters in the cartoon .

  7. aulelia Says:

    @kandee, agree with u fully.

@felicity, ditto!! i know what u mean! it is fucking silly really cos they did not give a FUCK about her basically. i like her/i think she is wicked so that is why commenters like britney spears jar me cos it is like, read the bloody post first! the topic is not about leona but about how uk mags dont care.

  8. Felicity Graham Says:

British magazines are like that, the people they have no interest in are getting on with their lives and being a success and now they want to interview them, like if they were supporting them all along.

  9. Kandee Says:

The US don’t care about her voice either. They just love how far they can stretch the one-drop rule (read: exotic beauty).

  10. aulelia Says:

@britney spears, if you read the post properly you will see that I am a fan of hers and that I want her to do well. My bone is with how the magazines now care because she is doing well in the US not because she has a phenomenal voice, hence the ridiculous “Miss America” comment. and FYI, I live in England which is why i got company

I am going to have to start moderating comments to avoid getting philistine comments like this.

Your observations really are not fair.
Some of us have supported Leona since she first appeared on the X Factor.
It was plainly obvious that this woman was no ordinary singer and that with the right team behind her could become the superstar she now is.
Her beauty is plain to see white or black.
I am sure that magazines with her on the front page fly off the shelves.
She must be very much in demand now for interviews and photoshoots.
I am very happy for her and she is well loved especially in the UK for her humility and extrordinary talent
