On the road to saving: Part Deux

Just came out of the French translation exam. Bollocks! Anyhoo, in a bid to continue saving and being more financially responsible, I am starting the Charcoal Savings Challenge! Please join in with me!

Here is how it will work: It is the  2nd of June today but basically each month, on the 1st or 2nd day, I hope to be inputting money into that savings account that I keep neglecting. So to make this a challenge, how about any regular Charcoal readers, how about we all do it together ? Sounds bizarre but wherever you are in the world, if you just create a hidden stash and put money there each month for yourself! then we can all report on the blog to say how well/bad we are doing!

So the next time, 1st of July, join in with me and put any views done you have in the comment box stating whether you put money in your piggybank/savings account/savings envelopes. You do not have to say how much you have put it (although you are more than welcome). You can share as little info as you want as I know many people still do not like to talk about money and that is okay.

Let’s walk to saving!

  • Kudos to you! I would join you but Im currently a student and living on my savings :-D . Saving is one of the smartest things one can do in their life. I dont know what I would have done right now if I had not saved up the last four years. I intend to get back saving once I start working again. In the meantime, Im trying to overwork my creative mind ( if it even exists) on different ventures I could take on in the near future that could give me an income. I have come to the conclusion that I REALLY wouldnt like seeing myself working for some company until Im 60. If possible, the minute Im done with school (or few years after) I want to go solo. Rain or shine.

    All the best

I recommend you to read Your money or your life by Joe Dominguez , Vicki Robin and/or The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley
