Noemie on French Vogue

To say that she is stunning is an understatement. I must say, I am looking very forward to buying this copy in Borders. I will go and look for it today. I cropped the image above but you can see the front cover at the fabulous fashion blog Make Fetch Happen.

When I get the French Vogue magazine, I will scan the Noemie Lenoir photographs (if there are any). I think this issue will become a collectable. As will the Italian Vogue when it comes out.

I used to be a fashion magazine addict. ELLE, Glamour, you name it. I used to buy it. Now, I barely have time for them. And yes, the lack of black girls was a massive factor in it and the fact that Beyonce is *dark*…whatever. Anyways, one of my good friends T gave me the Style supplement of the Sunday times from a few weeks ago. The Style supplement is always eagerly read by T and I was intrigued to see why this issue had caught her eye.

Jourdan Dunn was on the cover. IT girl of the moment and a London girl! I was really excited. So you can imagine my HORROR when I read the article which was the biggest pile of bollocks. It just chatted rubbish about how perhaps white models have that “dewy” look whereas black models have a sort of “assertive sexuality”. I beg your pardon ?

I really want Jourdan Dunn to do well, like I want every black model to do well. But I do think the unnecessary hype of just lauding her and Chanel Iman will hurt other black models careers too. I wish Naomi would stop making people conked out at Heathrow and try and *help* this horrible situation.

I am really not interested in fashion magazine anymore. I could not care less to be honest. And this is coming from a magazine addict. Colures magazine was great but now it is dissipated. There is NOTHING left magazine wise for black women and frankly…it is just not good enough.

We love haute couture too…so why can’t we be included ? I think we just need to keep creating our own shit now.

  • I really feel sorry for Naomi. There is no reason at all for her to be acting the fool. I will puke if she blames racism for her problems. She lacks self control and class. I don’t trust anyone, regardless of race, color and class who does not know how to treat another human being. It tells a lot about folks who treat others with disrespect. And this is the problem with Naomi. She has a serious character problem and a superiority/inferiority complex.

    Saludos.

I only buy Essence and mostly Vogue Knitting. Naomi is getting silly now, she knows how the media feel about her, get a damn private plane, she has got lots of money.

  • @Danielle, yeah the beauty blogs are great. Naomi is a silly cow but she knows that people tolerate her rubbish!

  • I don’t read many fashion magazines either and it would be great to just create our own. I gave up on Essence AGES ago and I just read blogs like Afrobella and Make Fetch Happen for news, etc.

Naomi is batshit crazy and needs to stop the nonsense. She’s too old for this and she needs to set a better example and take therapy SERIOUSLY.
