“Well for your information Didier Drogba actually likes his light skinned girls and has been seen with many out and about in the clubs of london and trust me i know!! And as for your narrow minded self thinking that just because someone is biracial they are not black – dont celebrate Bob Marley day then as he is mixed, so what not black?? Keep ur racist hating views to your self.” – Comment by Mixed and Loving it on my post entitled “Attack of the Love Rat”
Gordon Ramsay gives me joke because he just tells people how it is. I am not an expert in anything nor do I profess to know a lot of about certain things however like most individuals, I have opinions. The comment has already sharpened knives and made assumptions about this blog without even properly reading my blog. Anyone who reads Charcoal regularly knows that I am very pro-black and I really do love our diaspora, which of course includes mixed-race people. I do not have anything against mixed-race people, in fact, I do not see them differently to black people. I really don’t. Some of my friends do not see mixed race people as black but I do. Nonetheless, this presumptuous comment is bewildering because I don’t understand how I can be racist! I just find that ludicrous when if you look in the archives, I attempt to discuss race issues and colourism many times.
As for Didier Drogba, if you know, then why don’t you sell your story in the Sun like that woman who did that to Ashley Cole ? I know the internet is full of trolls but I don’t see this as a comment: I see it as a presumptuous and very arrogant provocation. I love getting comments on this blog and I encourage people to have their own views. I don’t need people to agree with me. However, I do want people to think before they type.

@truth, lol, that is true! i am a meanie
Aulelia,
I do not believe you are a racist, but you are a self described meanie, remember? You have beautiful mind, keep blogging.
@memphiz, thank you for your kind words!
I agree I dont beleive you are racist at all either…I enjoy reading your opinions on things, and I have never seen anything hurtful written from you! so please keep the posts coming!
@Januaries & sdg1844, thank you both for your support!! No surprise that I agree with exactly what both have had to say concerning the ludicrous nature of this troll’s comment. I swear internet trolls just blitz without even taking into consideration “coherence”.
And Januaries, I completely agree with the fact that they should drink the water first too!
Sigh. I just don’t get it. Sometimes I think the electronic world is full of cowards who’d never say certain things to your face.
I’m sorry to hear this and in no way are you racist. Keep blogging, sharing and speaking your truth.
Peace!
It’s a pity that people use blog comments so often as a comfortable tool for venting their frustration. I imagine that many simply sit down at the computer after a fight with someone and take it out on strangers using the most ludicrous justifications… This is probably the case with this comment. As with many others that are completely off.
It’s a good thing that you noticed the person didn’t even bother to read your blog. What they said is not about you in any way. But it’s hurtful, nevertheless. I wish people decided NOT to type more often. Had a glass with cold water ready at their side and only started writing after drinking it up.
